And, don’t get me wrong, none of those things are necessarily bad. A group of people working together to achieve something together is the technical definition of unity, but when does unity become something more dangerous? The little red panda is the key to a secret Reena's dad has been hiding for her entire life.

What is the Heirs of the Mazzaroth series? Since I What is the Heirs of the Mazzaroth series? Since I've spent the better part of 30 years building it, I figured I ought to start talking about it. The Heirs of the Mazzaroth series is a massive, multi-part multi-series universe of superhero adventure stories that I began imagining when I was 9 years old. I will turn 42 in October, so you do that math. ;-) I wrote the first story in this wild, crazy series when I was 11, and that set me off on a journey to becoming a full-time author and/or storyteller. Since the idea was born in my brain, I've imagined multiple spin-off series, intricately connected worlds and cultures, and entire galaxies full of incredible characters and stories. But the primary idea has always revolved around three specific series: - The Legend of the Lightkeepers - REISHOSAN: Samurai Defenders - The Dragons of the Diamond Throne And by the end of October (Lord willing) for the first time since I started this incredible storytelling journey, I will have a book in all three series available. So I thought maybe I ought to start being a little more vocal about what I'm doing with this series. Originally I wrote these for the "old millennials" because I wanted to write a story that I wanted to read. And that worked. But all the old millennials gave my stories to their kids, which is how I started realizing that these stories are actually bringing families together. More information is available for each series on my website (link in bio), especially on the page I built for the awesome new Superhero Web Link project one of my friends is running. But all three of these series have similar themes: - The importance of community - Finding and valuing your identity - And understanding that some battles are too big for you to fight without help Also ... in the words of my editor, "Never underestimate the cool factor." Because these characters are just a ton of fun. Most of them are unbearably cool... and the rest of them are socially awkward and adorkable. Who is your role model? When you need direction or Who is your role model? When you need direction or guidance, who do you ask? Most of us have someone in our lives that we can ask for help, but how many of us have someone to watch? This week in our devotions about Discernment, we're talking about how we can get wisdom. One of the best ways is to look for people who look like Jesus and do what they do. While there are many ways to learn to be discerning, oftentimes the best way is to watch those who are doing life with Jesus. And it's absolutely vital to have a role model or a strong believer who is willing to disciple us, for some people, it's not practical. What do you do then? Well, I've learned that if you can't find someone who is able to intentionally invest in your life, find someone who is serving God actively. Watch them. Learn from them. Sometimes the greatest discipleship is found in modeling godly choices. Who is someone you are following? Is there a particular person in your life that you learn the most from? How can you apply what you learn in your own life?
